Hello,

I try to create a plugin.

Here are some informations to do so for beginers (like me).
I will add informations as soon as I discover one or have answers.

Initialisation

Create a new dir in plugins directory (it will be the name of the plugin)[/*:m:5jf1t6v9]

Create a index.php file with

<?php
include('../../common.php');
render();

[/*:m:5jf1t6v9]

Create a template.php file with

<h1>My Plugin !</h1>
Hello World !

[/*:m:5jf1t6v9]

Now you have a menu entry plugin, with a new plugin test inside, which who "Hello World !" when called.

For the moment, there is some bug on windows system: api directory is not correctly handled (some / \ pb). And the template file is not located...

bye
Vicnet,
Thank you for your help.
I used the configuration file you posted. I modified it for my use. Now however, when I try to install the database, I get the following:

Access denied for user 'ODBC'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

Where is the user defined as ODBC? I looked for it everywhere but could not find it. I think if I can redefine the user as the actual user that has permissions in the database, the install will complete.

Thanks again.
/Configuration file for Nexty
$system_installed = false;

As it is writen, there is a pb in installation and the configuration file is not ok !

Is your configuration file writable ?

Here a a configuration sample:

<?php
//Configuration file for Nexty
$system_installed = true;
$config = array(
'db_host' =>	'localhost',
'db_user' =>	'root',
'db_password'	=>	'',
'db_database'	=>	'nexty',
'site_url' =>	'http://localhost/nexty/branches/transilation/',
'site_absolute_path'	=>	'/nexty/branches/transilation/',
'mode' =>	'p', //Production mode.
);

You could adapt these manualy with your system.

After, you need to install tables too. Pearharps just install again with the correct conf file.
If not, I can send you a sql file with new nexty database.

Vicnet,
Here are the entire contents of configuration.php:

<?php
//Configuration file for Nexty
$system_installed = false;

Also, when I look at MySQL and execute "show databases;" there is no database for Nexty, so I don't even get to the step where the database gets built.

I suspect that there is some kind of incompatibility between all my components. Again my setup is:
Nexty 1.02
Vista Home
PHP 5.26
Apache 2.2
MySQL 5.067

I really like this program and I can't wait to get it fixed.

Hello,

I look at plugin code just for fun..
I found a pb on win32 system: DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR is \ and not /

On this system, glob function adds \ (and also ls function) and joinPath too.

It is ok to handle file system but in plugin management, the results are used in <a> tag for url or compared to string with / inside.

For exmeple, in loadPlugins function in custom.php, $file is compared to "api/".
In my system, $file contains "api\" that is not equal to "api/" so "api\" appears in menu plugins !

After, the joinPath is used and a url to api plugin is added. The url is "http://localhost/nexty/\plugins/\api/" !

In ls function there is also a / in the last part of function in "$folder/$this_folder". Peharps, it is better to use DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR.

Don't know why api url is build with $config['site_absolute_path'] and not $config['site_relative_path']...

There are 2 cases:
1) path for file system (require, ...)
2) path for url

For 1), DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR is ok but php understand also / even in WIN32 system. So all DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR could be replaced by / (be carreful, some function as glob use DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR !).
For 2), if DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR, a str_replace function must be called or special function like joinUrl (for exemple instead of joinPath) must be used.

bye
The easiest method to do this right now is to backup the database directly. You can use phpMyAdmin to do it - most web hosts provide it. Since this is easily possible, I don't think its necessary for me to code it into the project - but if more users ask for it, I'll add it.

Hello,

My provider allow only one database.
So I have multiple projet that use this unique database with lot of tables.

To avoid conflicts, I suggest to add a (optional) prefix (nexty_ for example ) before every table name.

I think it is not a difficult mods (configuration file and dialog, table uses, and perhaps migration ) and I will be easier to install nexty every where.
I a not alone in this case because all php software I use have this functionality (sometime I ask like I do here )

Hello,

As I want to do a french translation (as I tell you by mail), I want to have my own nexty site to have the latest version developped by me.
Free.fr is a french provider, and my provider, that hots many sites.

So I try to install it on free.fr and... lot of problems but success after few hours...

1) nexty is in php5 and free.fr suppose that php5 file have php5 extension. There is a solution: add a .htaccess in nexty dir with one line: php 1

2) nexty use sessions. To allow sessions on free, a 'sessions' dir must be created on root dir.

3) more problematic, free.fr doesn't allow to modify include_path. So set_include_patch doesn't work !!! The only include path fixe by free is a 'include' dir on root.
So I move classes/* inside this dir !
Peharps, the __autoload could be modify to add the $config['site_folder'] before class name.php

4) realpath doens't work if the string is empty.
So I had a small test that if $rel is empty, I use realpath(".") instead realpath($rel)

That all for installation on free.fr !

I will try to post this on some french web sites to bring new nexty users !

a+
Vicnet
PS: the link on TaskStep is invalid on about page...
PS2: peharps, you could add this forum on links in about page too.

I think I'll move the reminders to the top of projects. It will not show up if there are no reminders. Thoughts?

Sounds good. Maybe you want to do the same for the "Inbox", "Create new task" and "Next Action" buttons at the bottom. On the other hand, the latter two are in the upper right corner anyway, and "Inbox" I never used
